Antique 18th century brass and wrought iron hearth pan

Description: Brass cooking pan with wrought iron frame attached with copper rivets. This pan has had a hard life. The wrought iron ring frame has been removed by the flames in the hearth. Originally would have been a ring with integral wrought long handle. Because of fire damage this handle a later blacksmith replacement. This solid saucepan was placed directly in the hearth amongst the burning wood. This causes the blackened coating to the underneath.
