Description: Small framed sampler by Isabella Douglass, Aged 11 Years. Chatton School, Northumberland. This 19th century sampler not dated has two and a bit alphabets and two 0-9s. The motto “ God is Love.” All in a border of red and white triangles. Simple black moulded frame with paper label to back George Hughes FINE ART DEALER, BEWICK HOUSE, 50&52 PILGRIM ST., NEWCASTLE ON TYNE. Some minor stains and some stitches missing. The back with original paper that has not been disturbed.
