Description: Lovely Oak dairy piggin or milk measure. In as found condition and has opened out at the staves which are a bit loose. There are seven staves, one of which is elongated to make a handle with thumb piece. The staves are secured to the base with a wide strip of oak which are feathered in behind handle. Some staining on the strap at base. Mentioned in Pinto among dairy items.
