Description: Super storage or display jar. The blown glass jar with ground glass lid has no chips or cracks or restoration. The enamelled label read HOOKERS MALTED MILK. There is a good pontil mark on the stopper. Minor chip to ground stopper at base.The slight opaqueness inside the hollow stopper is trapped moisture during manafacture. Malted milk was invented in the late 19th century by Major John Henry Hooker. A factory in Bucks. was favoured to utilise the railways to deliver the product to London. Hookers were taken over by United Dairies in 1920.
